PESHAWAR: One soldier embraced martyrdom while another suffered multiple injuries when an improvised explosive device went off near Mirali town of North Waziristan tribal district on Monday, officials said.
They said the IED was planted near a water point in Qamer Kallay area. The soldiers were fetching water when the explosion occurred. The victim was identified as Subaidar Rauf, while sepoy Amir sustained injuries. He was shifted to a hospital.
Shortly before the incident, an IED went off in the same area, which did not cause any loss of life or injuries.
