THERE is no good or bad teaching. It is the educational institution’s environment that influences the quality of teaching. Educational institutions must strive for perfection and to achieve this objective they have to train teachers in the same vein.

Teaching in primary classes requires play-way methods so that young children are eager to learn. This is achived through fun, sports and games. Children books have coloured pictures. Students learn faster when they see the visuals of different things being explained to them.

Teachers of primary classes need to have innovative ideas to motivate students as every child has a different approach to learning The primary teacher’s job is hectic needing infinite patience as children demand their teacher’s perpetual attention.

Most of the teaching and learning in junior classes is by talking and listening to children. The main and important task of the primary teacher is to make all the five senses of their students functional by observing closely the behaviour and activities of every student.

Teaching in the secondary and higher secondary classes is more a joint venture between the teacher and students. It is in these classes that the knowledge foundation of a student is laid. The teachers can gauge their efficacy by the students’ response and plan the students’ lessons accordingly.
