ISLAMABAD, Aug 4: Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao on Thursday briefed the visiting Chinese delegation about the measures being taken by the government to control extremism, sectarian violence and terrorism.

The six-member Chinese delegation, led by deputy chief of Xinjiang immigration Zheng Jinyuan, called on the minister in the interior ministry.

During the meeting, the minister said Pakistan gave special importance to its friendly and brotherly relations with China.

Mr Sherpao briefed the delegation about different measures adopted by the government to check human trafficking and highlighted the effectiveness of PISCES, AFIS, MRP and the amendments made to the laws.

The Chinese delegation also visited FIA headquarters and were given a detailed briefing.

The minister hoped that exchange of delegations would prove to be helpful in learning from each other’s experience and said Pakistan-China relations would further strengthen in the coming days. The delegation thanked the minister for according warm hospitality besides briefing them on different issues.

The Chinese delegates also agreed to the proposal of the minister regarding exchange of delegation of experts.
