MARDAN: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa senior minister Mohammad Atif Khan claimed on Friday that JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman was holding Azadi March for Islamabad, not for Islam.

He was speaking at ‘Meet the Press’ programme of Mardan Press Club here.

MPA Zahir Shah Toru and party activists were also present on the occasion.

Atif Khan said that JUI-F chief was free to hold Azadi March as it was his constitutional right to hold any political activity, but he would not be allowed to take people by force for the said march.

On this occasion, he also said that the provincial government was committed to promotion of tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He said that they would attract local and foreign tourists and boost the provincial economy through promotion of tourism.

“We are trying to present the positive image of Khyber Pakhtun-khwa through tourism and sports activities,” he said.

Atif Khan said that they were constructing 35 small sports grounds in different parts of the district with a total cost of Rs500 million.

He said that the government was taking steps to provide facilities to the tourists at the arch-aeological sites located in Takhtbai, Jamal Garhi and Shahbaz Garhi areas.
