GUJRANWALA, Aug 3: Punjab IGP Maj Ziaul Hasan (retired) has said the police consultative system is being implemented across the province to curb crimes besides providing prompt justice to the people. Speaking at a high-level meeting of senior police officers here on Wednesday, the IGP emphasized that police officers should continue their struggle against criminals.

The IGP claimed that crime graph in Punjab had come down after the establishment of police patrol posts. He said that separation of the watch and ward and investigation in the police department would also bring positive results.

Briefing the IGP about the law and order situation in the range, DIG Zafar Abbas Lak claimed that FIRs were being registered expeditiously on complaints. He said that cattle-theft cases were also being registered against the influential people on the directive of the Punjab chief minister. Besides, he said that a large number of proclaimed offenders and other criminals were also arrested.

All DPOs of Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Hafizabad and Mandi Bahauddin and other senior officers were present on the occasion. Earlier, the IGP inspected a horse patrol post and also visited the Police Lines.
