KARACHI: Road project inaugurated

KARACHI, Aug 3: Sindh Governor Ishratul Ibad laid the foundation of rehabilitation and renovation project of University Road near Quaid-i-Azam mausoleum on Wednesday evening. Earlier, the governor was given a briefing about the project and the progress of other ongoing projects. He called for completion of all the projects on time while maintaining quality of work.

He expressed the hope that Karachi would become one of the most modern and beautiful cities of the world, equipped with all facilities, in the next few years. The University Road rehabilitation project has been started under the Karachi Package. The project will be completed in two sections — from Mazar-i-Quaid to Hasan Square and on to Safoora Goth.

The 3.95km section of 13.5km-long University Road from Mazar Quaid to Hasan Square will cost Rs312.50 million. The project funded by the PIA will be completed in 18 months. —APP
