NAROWAL: The 480th death anniversary rituals of Baba Guru Nanak ended at Gurdwara Darbar Sahib, Kartarpur in Shakargarh tehsil on Sunday.

The caretaker of the gurdwara, Sardar Gobind Singh, offered the concluding rites during the prayer event on the third and last day of the anniversary. Special prayers were offered for the security of the country.

The third day rituals were attended by local as well as foreign Sikhs. The yatrees were served with cold drinks, fruit and meals. Foolproof security measures were undertaken on the occasion.

Meanwhile, extension work of Gurdwara Darbar Sahib is in full swing. The Kartarpur corridor project will be completed by Oct 30 and it will be opened for Sikh yatrees after its inauguration in November.

SIALKOT: A large number of Sikh yatrees from the country as well as abroad participated in the concluding session of the three-day Joti Jot Festival held at Gurdwara Baabey Di Beri on Sunday. They performed their religious rites and prayed for national peace, prosperity and integrity.

The Sikhs also distributed langar and recalled their pre-Partition memories. They said that every religion gave a lesson of love, peace, unity, integrity, brotherhood, tolerance, affection and respect for humanity.

Sardar Jaskaran Singh, caretaker of the gurdwara, said that the Sikhs celebrated the Joti Jot Festival in memory of the last days of the life of Baba Guru Nanak.

On the occasion, the yatrees from the UK strongly condemned Indian state terrorism and expressed solidarity with the oppressed people of India-held Kashmir.

They later visited Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur, Shakargarh where they performed their religious rituals.
