SUKKUR: Two armed men riding a motorcycle shot dead a man in what was described as a targeted attack in a locality falling within the jurisdition of the A-Section police of Sukkur on Thursday.

The police said that 35-year-old Dilawar Khan Pathan was on his way to a court to attend the hearing of his case on a motorcycle when he was waylaid by unknown assailants.

His pillion, Panjal Lolai, told the police that he and Dilawar heard gunshot sound and soon he saw Dilwar falling on road.

He had sustained bullet wounds and was rushed to a nearby private medical centre on Workshop Road where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival, Panjal added.

Later, the police took custody of the body and got a post-mortem examination performed, he said.

The police linked the murder with an old enmity between two groups belonging to the Pathan community that has already claimed a number of lives.
