In the gutter

Published September 18, 2019

MY neighbourhood has become a hub of disease and health hazards. Residents of Sector 11-H Muslim Town, Nagan Chowrangi, are suffering because of the overflowing gutters, encroachments, broken roads, never-ending traffic jams and electricity issues.

During the last rain spell, water gathered in our streets with no outlet for its disposal and the gutters overflowed because they were full to the brim with garbage.

If this was not enough, for the last couple of months due to the ongoing anti-encroachment drive, our area has been covered with dust, rubble and debris.

All of these are health hazards. Many people in the area are now suffering from breathing issues and waterborne illnesses.

The residents of the area had earlier brought the authorities attention to the issue, but it remains unresolved.

I request Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Mayor Waseem Akhtar to take necessary action as soon as possible.
