KARACHI: All the three Pakistani cueists who are competing in the IBSF 6-Reds World Snooker Championship in Myanmar city of Mandalay are in hot waters following dismal performances over the last two days.

As many as 77 cueists with 19 from the host country are competing in the event. Besides Pakistan and Myanmar, other 13 countries includes Bahrain, China, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Iraq, Malaysia, Nepal, Philippines, Qatar, Thailand, South Korea and UAE.

According to details made available here, the cueists have been divided into 16 groups. Group A, B and C consists of four players each while while 65 cueists have been equally drawn into 13 groups.

Former world champion and currently Pakistan No 1 Mohammad Asif who is placed in group F has completed his engagements winning two and losing two matches. He has won 11 frames and conceded 13 to finish with frame difference of -2.

Figured in group G, Mohammad Ahsan Javaid has won two of the three matches and likely to join local player Ko Htet in the knockout round. The latter has topped the group winning all four matches.

Zulfiqar A. Qadir has played two matches winning one and losing one and his fate is still undecided in group K.
