SHIKARPUR, July 31: Bashir Khan Qureshi, chairman of the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz, JSQM, has opposed the Kalabagh Dam project and termed it a conspiracy hatched by the government to please the establishment.

He was speaking at a gathering held to mark the death anniversary of JSQM vice chairman, Qayoom Mangi, here on Saturday night. Mr Qureshi said the government was staging a drama of flood threat to misguide and mislead people of Sindh for implementing Kalabagh dam.

He claimed that the people of Sindh would foil such anti-Sindh projects because they knew that their fertile farm lands would turn barren after construction of the dams.
