Foundation stone of Old Age Home

LAHORE, July 30: Former district nazim Mian Amer Mahmood laid the foundation stone of the first Old Age Home for senior citizens at the Green Town Community Centre here on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, he lauded the initiative taken by the citizens community board concerned for building a home for senior citizens. He said the old people required special attention and care because they were unable to fend for themselves.

He said the government had introduced the CCB concept to provide financial assistance to the people unable to execute social welfare projects for lack of resources. They could now fulfil their desire for establishing such projects by raising only 20 per cent of the funds required for the purpose.

CCB chairman Arif Chaudhry advocate said the proposed old home would be completed at a cost of Rs8 million with boarding and lodging facilities for 30 senior citizens.
