KARACHI: A man was found dead in the Brigade police limits on Thursday, police said.

They added that the body of Sajid Mehmood, 45, with its throat cut, was found in a home in Sabzi Gali of Lines Area.

Area SHO Tahir Sheikh said that the victim lived with his 11-year-old son as his wife had left him around seven months back after the couple developed irreconcilable differences over domestic matters.

The boy had gone to meet his grandmother in Khudadad Colony. When he returned home in the morning and knocked at the door, he did not receive any reply. He called his relatives, who entered the home through a window and found Sajid lying dead on a bed with a knife stuck in his neck.

The officer said he believed that the man had become emotionally disturbed when his wife left him and might have committed suicide.

The investigators obtained fingerprints from the place and took the body to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for legal formalities.

The police were waiting for the findings of the doctors to pursue the case legally.
