Leading senior, junior players to compete in Essa Lab tennis

KARACHI: Leading senior and junior tennis players of the country will participate in the 8th Essa Lab National Seniors & Juniors Tennis Championship 2019 which will be played at the Modern Club from Aug 31-Sept 6.

The championship will be organised by Sindh Tennis Association under the auspices of Pakistan Tennis Federation.

A media briefing to launch the Championship was held at Karachi Gymkhana on Tuesday afternoon and was jointly addressed by renowned sports partron Professor Dr. Farhan Essa and PTF’s vice president Khalid Rehmani. Other senior PTF officials Gulzar Firoz and Zafar Hasan were also present on the occasion.

The events to be contested in the national ranking championship include Juniors U-18 Singles & Doubles for both boys and girls as well as U-16, U-14 and Under- 12 & Under 10 Singles & Doubles. Besides that, Sindh ranking events including Mens Singles. Ladies Doubles and wheelchair tennis singles event with the technical support of Para Sports Pakistan will also be contested. Essa Laboratory & Diagnostic Centre will sponsor the championship.

All out station junior players shall be entitled to daily and travelling allowances as per the PTF rules. The last date of entry is Aug 29. Entries can be sent to Muhammad Khalid Rehmani (referee) at whatsapp number 0300-3607209 or emai at sindhtennis@gmail.com.

Outstation players should send entries through their respective provincial or District Tennis Associations.

The organizing committee comprises former Davis Cupper Khawaja Saeed Hai (president) and vice presidents Gulzar Firoz. Khalid Jamil Shamsi, Zafar Hasan and Mushtaq Ahmed. Tournament Director & Referee will be Muhammad Khalid Rehmani.
