New AG to assume office today

LAHORE, July 29: Wazir Ahmed Qurieshi will hand over the charge of the Punjab Accountant General’s Office to Namatullah Abid on Saturday (today).

After assuming charge as AG some four years ago, Mr Qurieshi took a number of measures to facilitate visitors, especially retired employees and pensioners, to the AG’s Office.

He has been holding open forums on every Friday to redress the grievances of complainants, but could not do so on his last day in the office.

The new AG is a deputy controller accounts.
