AT the time of the creation of Bangladesh, Indira Gandhi, then prime minister of India, proclaimed: “today we have sunk Jinnah’s two-nation theory in the Bay of Bengal.”
Modi has proved Indira Gandhi’s assessment wrong after promoting Hindu nationalism in India. He has shown Jinnah’s two-nation theory is correct. India was never a secular country and will never be one.
It is a Hindu-majority country for Hindus. Sadly, the minorities of India will have to live as second-class citizens.
Who was a visionary? Jinnah or Indira Gandhi, or for that matter all other Indian leaders of their time? The pragmatic people should answer this question.
