Fahd to leave hospital soon

RIYADH, July 28: The health of Saudi Arabia’s King Fahd has improved after over two months in hospital, officials said on Thursday, with several common prisoners set to be released to mark his apparent recovery.

A source close to the ruling family told AFP that “King Fahd will leave hospital in the next few days after his health has improved.”

“On the occasion of ... King Fahd’s overcoming a health malaise ... an order was issued by by Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdel Aziz ... to pardon some of the common law prisoners,” said the interior ministry in a statement. The king was admitted to King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Riyadh on May 27.—AFP
