HYDERABAD, Jan 14: In the ongoing operation against the criminals, the Hyderabad district police claimed to have arrested four members of inter-provincial gang of dacoits who were wanted by Hyderabad and Thatta police in different cases.

The police also arrested one person and recovered a 7mm rifle, a big mouser, a revolver and TT pistols from his possession.

A-section police station, Latifabad, arrested two members of the gang of dacoits in a raid near Bilal Palace, unit No 7.

They were identified as Rao Zahid Ali, son of Mohammed Hanif Rajput, from whose possession a 30-bore TT pistol with live bullets was recovered, and Kasif, son of Babu Qureshi, from whose possession a 32-bore revolver and bullets were recovered.

Another team of the A-section police station arrested Shahnawaz who was found in possession of a TT pistol and Imtiaz from whose possession a 7mm rifle was recovered in a raid near Majee Hospital.

The police also arrested Yousuf Sattar from doctor’s square, unit No 7, Latifabad, and a big mouser was recovered from his possession.

DRUG PUSHER: The Sehwan police on Sunday arrested one drug pusher and seized a huge quantity of intoxicants from his possession.

A spokesman for the DIG of police, Hyderabad range, said here on Monday that the Sehwan police have conducted a raid near the Rest House of “Mohammad Shahbaz” located at Makrani Mohalla and arrested drug pusher Gul Khan while he tried to escape in a car (No.2428) with his accomplice, Dilawar Khan.

The accomplice fled from the scene leaving the car.

The police recovered 50 kg of marijuana from under the seats of car. The drug pusher belonged to Peshawar and was heading to Sehwan to sell the narcotics, he the spokesman added.

SHO SUSPENDED: The SHO of Gharo, Thatta district,sub-inspector Qadir Bux Khaskheli, has been suspended and transferred to the police lines till he clears himself of the charges levelled against him in the inquiry initiated against him by the DIG of Hyderabad.

The charges against him are that he misbehaved with Amanullah, manager of PVC Mills, Gharo, impounded his truck (LHB-5281) and detained the driver, Sher Ali, and kept both the vehicle and driver at the police station of Gharo for more than 16 hours on flimsy grounds that the truck contained stolen goods for which the SHO demanded proper documents.
