Rs4.835m taken away from bank

KHANEWAL, July 28: Three robbers took away Rs4.835 million in cash from Muslim Commercial Bank (MCB), Ghalla Mandi branch, on Thursday. Manager Chaudhry Anwar said the robbers entered the bank as customers and took the entire staff, including regional manager Abdul Shakoor, at gunpoint, locked them in the strong room and decamped with Rs4.835 million.

They injured the branch manager and security guard when they offered resistance. They fled on a motorcycle.

The Kohna police have registered a case and started investigations.—APP
