PAF Mirage crashes

ISLAMABAD, July 28: A fighter aircraft of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) crashed on Wednesday evening, some 80 kilometres south-west of Islamabad, officials said here on Thursday. The pilot of the aircraft managed to eject in time.

PAF spokesperson Air Commodore Sarfraz Ahmed said the Mirage aircraft crashed at Basal, an area located south-west of the capital.

He said the pilot ejected and there were no casualties on the ground.

The official said the aircraft was on a routine flight when it crashed.

Initial investigations have shown that the crash occurred due to technical reasons, he said.
