BATTAGRAM: District nazim Attaur Rehman Khan on Monday presented the Rs3.212 billion annual budget of Battagram district for financial year 2019-20.

The budget session of the district council was held here with naib nazim Faheem Akbar Khan in the chair and councillors and district heads of departments in attendance.

The nazim told the house that the provincial government had provided Rs3.212 billion to the district government in 2019-20.

He said under the PFC Award, Rs459.688 million was allocated for the district annual development plan, which would be utilised in line with the government’s guidelines during the current financial year.

The nazim said the remaining amount Rs150.458 million from the previous year’s district ADP would be spent this year on the ongoing development schemes.

He said in the 2019-20 annual budget, the government had allocated Rs2382.547 million for 87 DDOs salaries from the PFC Award, while Rs123.217 million allocated for non-salary fund also included electricity fund for the district department offices for the payment of bills.

The nazim said Rs60 million had been allocated for leave salary fund for retired employees under the PFC Award, while Rs31.425 million had also been earmarked in the budget for retired employees.

He said for 2019-20, Rs5.610 million was allocated for the district council grant through PFC Award and that amount would be utilised for the nazim and naib nazim’s salaries, expanses of the council, and the councillors’ session allowance, TA and other expanses.

The nazim asked councillors to help the government develop the district.

He said the PDMA officials working in the district drew salary without doing anything.
