PROTEST: Drivers and cleaners of buses staged a demonstration outside the press club here on Tuesday to protest against contractors of the bus terminus of the Hyderabad Cantonment Board.

Driver Ashraf and cleaner Mahmood told journalists that they were beaten up by employees of the contractor at the bus terminus when they insisted that their vehicle should be allotted full three minutes to pick-up passengers.

They said while women were boarding the bus the starter of the terminus snatched their luggage and did not allow them to board the bus.

They said no one was taking notice why the contractor was resorting to over-charging from bus drivers.
