SHANGLA: A student was killed after a speeding jeep hit his motorcycle in Shang area of Bisham on Sunday.

Police told Dawn that the teenage motorcyclist was on his way to home from Bisham when a jeep hit him. They said that the 9th grader was taken to the tehsil headquarters hospital, Bisham, in critical condition, where he breathed his last. The victim was identified as Shah Zeb Khan of Seror Shang village.

Meanwhile, the forest department observed ‘Plant for Pakistan Day’ by sowing saplings across Shangla district the other day. Officials of the forests department, heads of line departments and social activists planted saplings in Alpuri, Puran and Bisham.

Sub-divisional forest officer, Karora, Zahid Hussain said that ‘Plant for Pakistan Day’ was being celebrated across the country, which was also a formal launching of 10-billion tree project, an initiative of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
