I RECENTLY parked my car in JB Towers at University Road in Peshawar. I noticed that almost all cars parked in that plaza had illegal car registrations.

Some cars had ‘applied for 2018’ while some of them had fake number plates like ‘MA 018 ICT’. There were some cars that did not have the official number plates and were using self-made black number plates with no city mentioned.

My question to the relevant authorities is: why are they not taking action against these people? We the taxpayers, who register their cars on time and follow all number plate rules, are facing extra costs while these non-taxpayers enjoy driving their vehicles on public roads without any hindrance and additional costs.

If the relevant authorities cannot take action against these people, they should also allow taxpayers to use their cars without registration and token tax payments in Peshawar too.
