NWFP to introduce new curriculum

Published July 26, 2005

PESHAWAR, July 25: The NWFP would introduce new curriculum for intermediate classes this year, said Attaullah Khan, Chairman NWFP Textbook Board. Talking to APP here Monday, he said that the new curriculum had been approved in 2001 and added that a new course for class one to nine would be introduced next year as had been scheduled.

When asked about involvement of the Aga Khan Education Board in the preparation of the curriculum, he said that the board was to conduct examinations only and had nothing to do with the textbooks.

The changes suggested by the NWFP Education Commission, headed by Mufti Ghulam-ur Rehman, had been forwarded to the federal ministry of education, which is thoroughly reviewing them and may take some of the suggestions into consideration for the next curriculum, Mr Khan said. —-APP
