PESHAWAR: Some members of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council have lauded the Judicial Commission of Pakistan for recommending appointment of senior lawyers as additional judges of Peshawar High Court and expressed the hope that the decision will help to reduce the backlog of pending cases in the province.

Speaking at a press conference at Peshawar Press Club on Sunday, Tahir Waseem Diyal, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council member from Dera Ismail Khan, said that JCP would help expedite the disposal of cases and provide easy justice to the litigants within shortest possible period.

Flanked by other members of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council including Sardar Hashmat Nawaz Sadozai, Najeebullah, Syed Shah Faisal, Azhar Rahim, Shah Faisal Utmankhel, Shahid Raza Malik, he said that some elements were opposing the recommendations of JCP without any logic.

Mr Diyal also talked about the problems of the litigants and said that only solution to reduction of the backlog of cases was appointment of additional judges.

He said that government should take effective steps for solution to the problems being faced by the lawyers.
