GWADAR: A former councillor and Balochistan National Party (BNP) local leader drowned along with his son and nephew in the sea near Pasni, Levies officials said on Sunday.

Family sources said Khuda Dadullah had gone to the Juddi beach for fishing along with his son, Amanullah, and nephew, Shakirullah, on Saturday afternoon. But they did not return till late night, the sources added.

They said the family informed the officials concerned and Levies Force about it on Sunday. The relatives along with the Levies personnel then launched a search during which they found the motorcycles and other belongings of Mr Dadullah in the Juddi area. The bodies of the BNP leader, his son and nephew were later found and handed over to the family.

A senior official of the Levies Force said: “Perhaps a high tide had swept Dadullah, his son and nephew away towards the deep sea during fishing and they drowned.”
