LAHORE: The online registration for a common entry test for admissions to BSc Engineering and Engineering Technology programmes in University of Engineering and Technology (UET) and its affiliated colleges and institutions in the province is ongoing.

The entry test will be held on July 14 at 10am.

The university have setup 13 examination centres: UET main campus, GT Road, Lahore; UET Kala Shah Kaku Campus; UET Taxila; International Islamic University; College of Engineering and Technology, Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan; NFC Institute of Engineering and Technology, Multan; College of Engineering, Islamia University, Bahawalpur; Khwaja Fareed University of Engineering and Technology, Rahim Yar Khan; NFC institute of Engineering and Fertilizer Research, Faisalabad; University of Gujrat; Government College of Technology, Rasul; Dr AQ Khan Institute of Technology, Mianwali; and Quaid-i-Azam College of Engineering and Technology, Sahiwal.

After the UET entry test, applications for admission to BSc would be received in September and test token will be available from designated HBL branches on payment of Rs700 till July 2.

Instructions about logging into the UET admission portal using the token number are given on the token. Candidates can print admit card online from web portal.Candidates will have to choose an alternate test centre due to limited seating capacity at each centre. Last date for data entry and generation of admit card online is July 3 and its reprint is permitted until the day of the test.

Applicants may use computer and printer facility in the designated computer laboratories at the centers till July 3 between 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM with a break of prayer, from Monday to Friday.

Last date for the purchase of tokens from designated branches of HBL is July 2 (Tuesday) and for receipt of admit cards is July 3.

Result of combined entry test will be declared on midnight July 21 and will be available at web portal http://admission.uet.edu.pk.

However, the key for self-marking shall be uploaded on website at midnight on test date. Applicants are reminded to arrange a photo ID like CNIC or SSC certificate or domicile or statement of entry, in case they are ‘A’ level qualified candidates for presentation in the centers.

Failure to present a photo ID may result in expulsion from the test centre. Entry Test tokens are available on the designated branches of HBL in Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, Peshawar, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gilgit, Attock Cantt, Wah Cantt, Taxila, Hyderabad, Sukkar, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Khanewal, Sahiwal, Okara, Rahim Yar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Faisalabad, Jhelum, Chakwal, Mirpur, Muzaffarabad, Mianwali, Sargodha, Layyah and Jhang.

WORKSHOP: The Punjab University Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) organised a workshop on ‘Entrepreneurship Mindset and Digital Innovative Entrepreneurship’ at the Hailey College of Commerce.

ORIC Director Prof Dr Naveed Ahsan, Institute of Business and Information Technology Assistant Professor Dr Asim Tanvir, faculty members and large number of students participated in the workshop. Resource person Dr Asim Tanvir has completed his PhD from Girne American University, Turkish Republic of North Cyprus. He has unique honor to conceive and launch five successful entrepreneurial ventures.They highlighted the significance of modern interacting tools such as Facebook, Google, and YouTube etc to start low budget ventures.

They shared a lot of successful stories, who used internet and interacting tools to start a new venture. Later, shields and certificates were distributed among the participants.
