ISLAMABAD: A 23-member delegation from China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC) visited National University of Sciences and Technology (Nust) on Sunday to formalise research collaboration in the cutting-edge areas of artificial intelligence, cloud computing, big data analysis, robotics, etc.

The purpose of the visit was also to initiate a joint academic forum to co-produce research journals and academic publications. The Chinese delegation was headed by Xiong Qunli.

Nust Rector retired Lt Gen Naweed Zaman highlighted some of the achievements of the university.

He also invited the CETC chairman to establish an innovation centre at the National Science and Technology Park (NSTP), Nust’s flagship initiative being operationalised in July this year. The park has the mandate to host leading technology companies to promote research and innovation aimed towards building the knowledge economy.

CETC Chairman Xiong Qunli hailed Nust for its achievements and wished to strengthen bilateral collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
