SUKKUR: The application for the transfer of the infamous murder case of Baldai UC (Dadu district) chairman Raees Karamullah Chandio and two sons, Mukhtiar Chandio and Qabil Chandio, from the Sukkur Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) to the Sindh High Court has been forwarded by the SHC chief justice to the Sukkur bench.

The application was filed in the SHC by Mukhtiar Chandio’s daughter Umme Rubab, who has expressed her no-confidence in the ATC judge. In view of her application for the transfer of the case, the ATC in its previous proceedings adjourned further hearing of the case till June 29.

The incident had taken place on Jan 17, 2018 when a group of armed men attacked Raees Karamullah’s house in Ahmed Colony, located in Mehar town. He and his two sons, along with one of the attackers lost their lives in the attack.

The attack was blamed on chieftain of the Chandio tribe in Dadu MPA Sardar Khan Chandio, his brother Burhan Khan Chandio and their “henchmen”.
