QUETTA: A Levies official and his brother were shot dead in the busy Shahbaz town area on Wednesday.

Police said that Levies official Muhammad Saddam Badezai and his younger brother Muhammad Zia Badezai reached the provincial capital in the morning to appear in a local court in connection with a case.

Armed men opened fire on the two when they were passing through the Shahbaz Town area, killing both of them on the spot.

Police rushed to the area after the incident.

They took the bodies of the victims to Quetta Civil Hospital for autopsy.

Police said the cause of the killing was an old enmity.

The deceased were residents of Norak camp, Gulistan.
