KARACHI, July 19: Zone-III Whites and Zone-VI Whites advanced in the quarterfinals of KCCA under-15 Inter-zonal cricket championship on Monday after emerging group champions in their respective groups.

A fine knock of 69 by Jahangir Khan inspired Zone-III Whites to a 53-run victory over Zone-VII Whites at the Asifabad Sports ground

Jahangir, who struck five boundaries, guided his side to 186 for nine in 50 overs. Later spinners Ishtiaq Ahmed and Sohail Rajput shared seven wickets between them as Zone-VII were bowled out for 133 in the 45th over.

Zone-VII Whites in reply were spun out for 133 in 45th over. Off-spinner Ishtiaq took four for 37 and slow left-armer Shoaib claimed three for 12.

Meanwhile, Zone-VI Whites registered a thrilling one-run triumph against Zone-V Whites at the KCCA Stadium largely due to a slow left-armer Fawad Khan, who grabbed seven for 38.

Batting first, Zone-VI Whites made 188 for nine in their 50 overs with Shoaib Nazar striking four boundaries in his 52. Off-spinner Mohammad Wasim claimed four for 56.

Zone-V Whites, in reply, were dismissed for 187 in 49 overs despite Mujahid Hussain cracking a fine 53 with three hits to the ropes.
