ABBOTTABAD: The Anti-Terrorism Court Abbottabad on Friday handed death sentence to two persons for abducting and killing a three-year-old girl some two years ago after her parents failed to pay the ransom.

According to a police report, Murwa, daughter of Faizan of Jhangi area, went missing from her home on Dec 30, 2016. Grandfather of the ill-fated girl reported the case to police that they had received a call for ransom of Rs500,000 for the girl’s release.

DSP Tahir Iqbal and SHO Tahir Saleem traced the caller, Tauseef Ahmed and his accomplice Hassan Ali through the mobile call data. Later, on their identification body of Murwa was recovered from the house of Tauseef. The ages of both the accused were 18 and 19 at that time.

The case was handed over to CTD which succeeded in getting exemplary punishment for both the killers.

Meanwhile, one person was killed when a van plunged into a ravine near Bandi village. The victim was named Nawaz, the van driver. Rescue 1122 recovered the body and handed it over to family.

A man was killed and three others were injured in a clash between rival groups at MCB Chowk on Friday afternoon. The deceased was named Ali Haider and the injured Ibrahim, son of the Ali Haider, Lal Mohammad and Farman.

Police arrested the three accused and started investigations.
