MANSEHRA: Three people, including a woman and a girl, were killed in separate incidents here on Thursday.

A woman of Lambi village died after she was bitten by a snake.

A relative of the woman, Amjad Shah, said the same snake bit a boy, whose condition was stated to be out of danger in the hospital. Also in the day, Alam Zeb was killed by rivals in Dadar area.

Speeding car kills girl in Mansehra

The police said the deceased named in a murder case had got out of jail three days ago. They said Alam was killed when he was travelling to Karachi.

In another incident, Irum, 7, was run over and killed by a speeding car in Jaba area. The car driver fled.

The police said they had begun search for the driver after registering an FIR against him.

TOURISM PROMOTION: The owners of Kaghan valley hotels have complained about the government’s lackadaisical attitude towards the promotion of tourism in the province.

“Electric supply to Naran has been suspended since the November snowfall,” regretted president of the Kaghan Hotel Association Saith Matiullah on Thursday.

He complained about the closure of the road leading to Lake Saiful Muluk from Naran.

Mr Matiullah said the tourism season could begin in Kaghan valley before Ramazan but that didn’t happen due to the government’s apathy.

He said the hoteliers had decided to reopen the Saiful Muluk Road on self-help basis to prevent further losses.

The association president asked the government to take tangible steps to promote tourism in Kaghan valley.

HELD: Four milk sellers were held after the sealing of their shops here on Thursday for selling adulterated milk and dairy products.

The arrests were made during an operation jointly carried out by the district administration and food department.

Assistant food controller Shaukat Sultan told reporters that nine cartons of banned injections used to adulteratemilk were also seized, while 1,600 liters of adulterated milk was disposed of.
