KARACHI: Karachi University (KU) announced on Monday award of scholarships to 36 MPhil and 16 PhD students.

The MPhil students would receive Rs8,000 for 12 months while PhD students would get Rs10,000 for 24 months.

“The award money would initially be disbursed from January to April 2019. The rest of instalments would be credited to the recipient’s account subject to receiving satisfactory remarks from their respective supervisors,” says a press release.

A meeting of the Institutional Scholarship Award Committee was held on April 22 and a total of 134 applications were received by the university. After scrutiny and due process, names of selected candidates were finalised last week, it adds.
