I POSTED a letter under Pakistan Post urgent mail service (UMS) bar code ums68781898 to an addressee located in Karachi on April 22 which, according to an SMS from the postal service, was delivered on May 2.

It took 10 days for delivering a letter from Karachi to a Karachi addressee through Pakistan Post’s UMS. Normally it takes maximum three days through ordinary postal mail and 24 hours through courier services for local deliveries. Why should I choose Pakistan Post?

If Pakistan Post wants to remain in business in a highly competitive market it has to change its approach and operate efficiently. The lethargic, casual and slow service providers have no reason to remain in today’s fast-moving competitive market.
