ISLAMABAD: Police have recovered a German national of Pakistani origin who went missing from G-6 on May 12.

According to a police statement, IGP Mohammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan had issued directions for the recovery of the girl.

Consequently, a team of Aabpara police was set up which carried out an investigation and traced the abductor.

“The team made effective use of technology, collected evidence from social media sources, instant messaging applications, laptop forensics and transportation networking applications.”

This evidence led to the abductor in Lahore who was arrested.

The 18-year-old girl was living with her uncle at G-6/1-4 from where she disappeared.

On the complaint of her uncle, the police registered a case under section 365-B (kidnapping, abducting or inducing woman for marriage) of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) against unidentified people.

According to the FIR, the complainant had found his niece missing from the house when he returned after offering Taravih. She had also taken her belongings, including passports and other documents.
