Four persons of a family drowned while another five to six remain missing after their boat capsized in Indus River in Jamshoro district’s Budhapur area on Saturday.

Jamshoro Deputy Commissioner Fariduddin Mustafa told DawnNewsTV that initially six were feared dead but two were later revived by doctors through cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

The deputy commissioner said that five to six persons are still missing, for which personnel of Navy have been called. He also said that the recovery of bodies was made difficult due to poor visibility in the area.

Regarding the victims, Mustafa said that they reportedly were from the same family and travelling from Matiari riverine area to Jamshoro’s Budhapur area of Manjhand taluka through the Indus River.
