PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Monday said the government would assess the needs of all districts of Kohat division on a priority basis to make a master plan for the supply of clean drinking water.

Chairing a meeting here, the chief minister said royalty funds would be utilised for executing the master plan instead of undertaking the politically-motivated small projects.

He said budgetary allocations for Kohat division in the next fiscal year would be made in light of the need assessment. The CM ordered the preparation of feasibility study of projects.

The relevant officials told the meeting that 2,357 complaints were filed by the residents of Kohat division with the Pakistan Citizen Portal and 2,161 of them had been resolved, while action on the rest was under way.

They also said an anti-encroachment campaign had led to the recovery of 126 kanals of occupied land in Kohat region in the last two months.

The officials said Rs1.54 million revenue had been collected in Kohat district against the target of Rs1.58 million through land, agricultural and other taxes.

The CM said the performance of all commissioners in the province was reviewed periodically.

“The performance analysis will not only help improve service delivery but will also provide valuable information to the government for investigating progress on various issues and directives of the provincial government,” he said.
