HARIPUR: Three persons, including two teenage brothers, drowned in separate incidents, police said on Sunday. The first incident was reported from Ghazi tehsil where two brothers drowned near Chahariyan village.

Police said Gohar-ur-Rehman, 15, and his elder brother, Ali Raza, were taking bath in Ghazi Brotha power channel when Gohar was swept away by the water, while Ali also drowned trying to rescue his brother, Ghazi police said.

The local divers had yet to find their bodies.

The second incident was reported from Tarbela Lake where some friends were taking bath, but one of them later identified as Hafiz Ahmed Ali, 20, drowned.

Local divers fished out his body after an effort of two hours and shifted it to the district headquarters Hospital, Haripur.

Meanwhile, the district administration has imposed ban on bathing and swimming in Tarbela and Khanpur reservoirs and other water bodies under section 144.

During last two days, the Ghazi police have arrested 20 persons on charges of violating the ban, while 13 were arrested while bathing from Khanpur reservoir.
