[Meanwhile, as reported by an agency in New Delhi,] External Affairs Minister Dinesh Singh said in Parliament today [May 8] that India had reiterated its desire to settle disputes with Pakistan “bilaterally and peacefully” but that there was no proposal for any meetings at Ministerial-level between the two countries.

He was reporting on talks he and Premier Indira Gandhi had on Tuesday with Air Marshal Nur Khan who represented Pakistan at the funeral of the late President Zakir Husain. Mr Singh said that no specific problems were raised at the talks.
