LAHORE, July 14: Rail traffic from Karachi to upcountry destinations and vice versa continued to pass through down track of the Sarhad railway station at a slow speed on Thursday, which delayed several trains from six to 10 hours. Railway officials told Dawn that Karakoram Express, Quetta Express and Karachi Express were late by over six hours and Awam Express by around eight hours.

Tezgam, Zakarya, Allama Iqbal, Shalimar and Jaffar expresses and Khyber Mail were scheduled to reach their destinations late by six to 10 hours, they added.

“Not a single train is being stopped between Rohri and Sarhad railway stations since 10.45pm on Wednesday when the down track was cleared,” they said.
