DERA GHAZI KHAN: Chief Minister Usman Khan Buzdar has been selected 10th chief of the Buzdar tribe at a ceremony called Pagh Bandi (turban wrapping) held at Barthi, in the tribal area of Tuman Buzdar
The slot has been vacant since the death of his father and 9th chief of Buzdar tribe Tumandar Sardar Fateh Muhammed Khan Buzdar earlier this month. Fateh Buzdar had got this honour in 1983.
In continuation of tribal Balochi tradition, elder son of the chief of the tribe is selected as new chief or Sardar-cum- tumandar.
The ceremony at Barthi, the Buzdar tribe headquarter, was attended by eminent leaders of Baloch tribes from Sindh, Balochistan and Kohi-e-Suleman. Mir Badshah Qaisarani from Qaisarani tribe, Iltaf Khan Jaffar from Jaffar tribe, Mir Abbas Khan Rand from Rand tribe.Speaking on the occasion, Buzdar said the establishment of Institute of Cardiology at Dera Ghazi Khan would decrease rush of patients in the hospitals of Multan and Lahore.
