Karachi, Hyderabad set title clash

KARACHI: Sindh Games gold medalists Karachi and defending champions Hyderabad qualified for the final of the sixth Inter-Divisional Softball Championship after winning their respective matches at the Hyderabad Club in the city on Sunday.

In the first semi-final, Karachi thrashed Shaheed Benazirabad 17-7 score. In their first inning, Karachi scored seven runs followed by nine in the second inning.

Benazirabad responded with one and six runs respectively in their first and second inning. They added only one in the last inning. Shumaila and Bushra Javed scored three runs each for the winners in the match.

Meanwhile, hosts Hyderabad registered even a bigger win than Karachi to cruise into the final, beating Mirpurkhas 15-2. Hyderabad scored seven and eight runs in their first and second inning respectively while Mirpurkhas responded with only two runs in reply.

Benazirabad and Mirpurkhas teams will now battle for third place on the podium on Monday followed by the final.
