KOHAT: A team of consultants of Asian Development Bank on Monday agreed to support the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and Water and Sanitation Services Company for water supply and drainage system projects in Kohat district.

The ADB team, during visit to WSSC office here, assured to resolve the water supply and drainage issues in the district on a priority basis.

The team was informed that the provincial government had not released any funds for WSSC due to which several projects, including water supply, repair of drainage lines and construction of overhead water tanks, were in jeopardy. However, after getting assurance from ADB team it was hoped that the work on the halted projects would resume soon.

The delegation under Intermediate Citizen Investment and Empowerment Project visited various pending projects, including waste water treatment plant on Rawalpindi Road, dumping sites in main city, recycling plant in Mohammad Zai and Kohat Development Authority where they were briefed about the projects and reviewed possibility of resuming work on these projects.
