LAHORE: PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday skipped the NAB hearing in the income beyond means investigation against him.

Shahbaz family’s spokesman Attaullah Tarar, while speaking to Dawn, did not give any reason as to why he (Shahbaz) did not appear before a combined investigation team of the NAB.

The bureau on Friday summoned Mr Sharif in the assets beyond means investigation against him and his sons for April 9.

In a notice, the NAB sought from Shahbaz details of his inheritance received from his father Mian Sharif. “Besides, details of all foreign bank accounts of Shahbaz, including the bank statement and all gifts given to family members, were also sought in the notice. The notice also required him to provide details of houses and plots gifted to spouses located at Whispering Pines resort, Mauza Makhnial, tehsil Hasilpur, including the title documents and details of vehicles received as gifts as declared in the Election Commission of Pakistan.

LONDON TRIP: Shahbaz Sharif was set to leave for London late on Tuesday night, party spokesperson Marriyum Auranzeb told Dawn.

Before his departure, Shahbaz tweeted: “Because of judicial grace exercised by honourable courts, I am now on bail and my name has been taken off the ECL. In these circumstances, I am going to take a quick visit to London to see my grandchildren and go through my own medical check-up and return soon IA!”.

The opposition leader in National Assembly said. “Allah blessed my younger son with a boy while my elder son got blessed with a baby girl after 20 years of marriage. Little girl had to undergo major heart surgery in London within a week of birth. I haven’t seen both of them yet because of my detention and my name being on ECL.”
