ISLAMABAD, July 11: Vice Admiral Haroon on Monday took charge as Chief of Staff (CoS) of Pakistan Navy, the second highest position after the Naval chief. Vice Admiral Haroon took charge as CoS after retirement of Vice Admiral Farooq Rashid. Vice Admiral Rashid joined the Pakistan Navy in 1970 and completed a 35-year tenure as a three-star officer decorated with Hilal-i-Imtiaz (military) and Sitara-i-Basalat.

Vice Admiral Haroon has already served as Commander Pakistan Fleet and Commander Karachi, the two coveted appointments for any naval officer, in addition to a stint as Director General Training in the Joint Staff Headquarters.
