GUJRAT, July 11: Seven bandits looted Rs30 million from four money changers near the new Grain Market on Shadiwal Road in the Sadar police station limit here on Monday. Sajjad Naseer, Maulvi Zulfiqar, Umar Farooq and Yasir Afzal were going to Lahore by car (LZE-9946). They were carrying with them foreign currency worth Rs30 million. Chasing them in two cars, armed robbers intercepted money changers near the grain market.

They smashed the wind screen and panes of car’s doors with butts of their rifles, snatched bags containing foreign currency and escaped.

One of the money changers fell unconscious after losing the money. Names of the three firms are: Dar Money Changer, Safdar Money Changer and Double A Money Changer while the name of the fourth firm could not be known.

Sadar police expressed its ignorance about the occurrence of such incident.

However, a police source confirmed that a case had been registered against the unidentified robbers.

SHOT DEAD: A man was shot dead by three brothers and their accomplice on Monday over a minor dispute in Wahand in Lalamusa.

Three brothers — Naeem, Azeem and Saleem alongwith Yasir shot and injured Jabbar eriously and escaped. He was rushedto a nearby hospital where he died. Lalamusa Sadar police have registered a case on the complaint of slain’s uncle Mukhtar.
