KHAR: Three persons, including two women, were wounded when a gas-run geyser exploded at the district headquarters hospital, Khar, in Bajaur tribal district, officials said on Saturday.

They said the incident occurred at the female ward of the hospital, adding about 15 women and some children were present at the ward when the incident occurred, wounded two women and a child.

Following the incident, hospital staff rushed to the site and shifted the wounded to the emergency ward.

A team of local administration and Levies officials visited the hospital and examined the site of the incident.

Talking to mediapersons, they declared the incident a cause of technical fault with the geyser, saying they had ordered an inquiry.

Meanwhile, medical superintendent Dr Aziur Rahman told reporters that one of the injured women was in precarious condition.
