ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Television Corporation will start making profits by June, Managing Director Arshad Khan said on Thursday.

In his statement, he added that the primary beneficiary of this success would be the PTV employees.

The current management had inherited massive liabilities, but PTV would reverse this trend by doubling the revenue for 2018-19 over that of 2017-2018, Arshad Khan said. “Pakistan Television’s content will soon be available on all digital media platforms,” the PTV chief said.

Regarding previous liabilities, especially those related to pensioners, Arshad Khan said different options were being discussed with the government.

“Our focus is on rationalising expenses in conformity with the PM’s austerity drive and on optimising our revenue streams,” he said.

He reiterated the prime minister’s vision about PTV, asserting the organisation would respect the nation’s cultural values by producing healthy family entertainment programmes and broadcasting credible news.
